Living in Beer City USA it is hard to not be a fan of craft beer. Chad and I used this to our advantage when we were thinking about our wedding. With our venue right downtown, New Vintage Place, as well we embraced beer details with open arms.
When Chad and I were planning our wedding he mentioned early on that he wanted beer theme elements throughout the day. Our world defiantly has a beer axis that we revolve around. Because it was so important to the both of us I really tried to have a conscious effort of how I can tastefully bring in beer or brewery related decor into our day. It is OUR day, right 🙂 . That is how we knew from the early beginning that we wanted beer inspired decor. Personal influences and details is one of the most important parts to keep in mind when planning your wedding and will help you decide on your larger decisions.
As I was looking for ideas I wanted to make sure that whatever I found that I was going to make it my own. Make it ours.
Growler Table Numbers
This was one of my favorite parts of our wedding. I saw the growler in a picture on Pinterest and thought it brought a great element of color, table fill and a way to have a consistent beer related theme at each table. the growler itself I purchased from a wholesaler site. Try to find a site that sells them only by a case of 6. That way you have extra to spread around and if one breaks you have a backup. The table number decal I purchased is from a shop on Etsy call The Word Nerd Studio. The shop owner is very sweet and easy to work with. Another plus? The decals were really easy to apply and looked amazing and professionally done.
Hop Leaf Sweetheart Table Garland
As you guys know from my wreath post working with artificial floral is one of my favorite things to do. Since my Florist was so amazing for my wedding taking care of pretty much all of the details I didn’t really have the opportunity to make anything for the wedding. While I was looking for ideas I thought a green garland filled with eucalyptus and hop leaves would look perfect and simple on our table.
Hop Leaf Boutonniere
Since he was the inspiration for the decor theme I made sure to give him some hop love too. My mom and I made all of the boutonnieres ourselves. We used all artificial floral so we could make all of them ahead of time to check if off our list. The light blue/teal velvet ribbon gave it the perfect touch. Isn’t my husband so handsome in this picture!
Bottle Cap Guest Book
This is the original idea that I thought of for our wedding. When I was thinking of what to do for our guest book everything I saw was overdone and cliche. Keeping with beer influences, this would be an easy way to show it again! I also didn’t want to give an opportunity to the one drunk person to draw something or say something inappropriate to be showcased in your home for the rest of your life haha. I had everyone sign a bottle cap. With those bottle caps I am going to put them into a shadowbox frame to showcase everyone’s signature! I’m still playing with what I would like to put in the middle of the frame (i.e.- “The Zitzelsbergers”, our wedding date, “H+C”). Stay tuned for a follow up!
Personalized Brewed Beer
This was an unexpected amazing “beer themed” addition to our wedding. Chad’s Best Man and brother , Troy, is a brewer. As a part of his best man speech and gift he brewed a special “Chaley” beer for our wedding. This was such an amazing and delicious gift. It was a mix of Chad’s favorite go to beer All Day IPA from Founders and my favorite fruit Mango.
Our wedding was the perfect reflection of Chad and I. This was just one aspect that made our day what it was.
