<\/a><\/p>\nJuly 30th, 2016; I married the person who loves me when I am wearing no makeup, my OCD tendencies are on full force, I’m having dry shampoo hair day 4 (don’t judge), PMS’ing, cranky, hangry, and just plain old fashioned crazy and I am so glad he still loves me after a year of marriage. He claims to love me even more. I know I got a good one :).<\/p>\n
This first year has gone by so quickly. Is that a good thing? I think it is. I still somewhat feel like we are dating in sense. But, he can never leave (insert evil laugh here…<\/i>just kidding)<\/i>.\u00a0We still go out on impromptu dates, he still gets me flowers, we still take the time to look good and take care of ourselves, and we still go out of our way to say I love you.<\/p>\n
We have done a lot this year as a couple too! If you follow me on Instagram you have probably seen all of our travels and experiences we have done.<\/p>\n

I am so blessed to have someone who enjoys experiencing and exploring life with me. Another year of Michigan lighthouse visits, Spartan football season ticket holders, date nights, Christmas tree hunting, skiing, overseas travel, traveling the US and adding a niece!<\/p>\n
The takeaway I have gotten from this year for the both of us is compromise. There are things I don’t want to do and things I know he doesn’t want to do but we do it because I know its important to the other person. It also comes down to choosing “battles” if you want to use that word. Choose what you can bend on and what you want to stand firm on. Deciphering that line has been starting to form for the both of us.<\/p>\n
The biggest thing I have learned about my husband is his patience. I knew he was patient when I said yes to marrying him, but let me tell y’all, he is a saint sometimes lol. Funny back story is that when Chad asked my dad permission to marry me one of the first things he told Chad was that if he wanted to marry me he needs to be patient. I’m not sure how I feel about that dad, but it was actually really good advice. I feel like Chad has kept that in the back of his mind since then and uses that advice often. Again, not putting me in the best light but this is real marriage haha.<\/p>\n What I have learned about myself is that I am not as flexible as I thought I was haha. I am not a fan of last minute change and not being able to control what is going on. It takes me a minute to accept and make the necessary changes. Again, not being very nice to myself on this post lol. Let’s change pace here. So, something that I think I am good at as being a wife is taking care of my husband. I like to cook, clean and make sure he is generally taken care of. \u00a0I always keep him and his best interest as a priority. I kinda want him to stick around for awhile lol.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
