Ladies, the time has come upon us again…
Wedding Season.
Goodbye summer weekend plans and say hello to seeing your friends and family saying “I Do”. No need to get sad loves because the one, of many, good things about weddings is expanding your more than likely outdated dress section of your closet from last year.
We all have been there staring at our closet saying “Did I wear that to the last wedding with this group of friends..?”
No worries, I gotcha covered with some of my favorite stores and styles that can easily be used not only for dressing to impress at weddings but also out on a date or even at work! So throw those dresses on your Facebook for sale site and lets update that closet!
P.S. did I forget to mention all of my picks are $50 and under!? Yeah..I’m making this way to easy..
1. Chambray Off the Shoulder
This dress is making the trends of the summer into something classic. The first trend is the Chambray material. What is so great about this matierial is that it can go with any color. Add a pop of color with a statement necklace, statement earrings, clutch or shoes and you are all set! It can easily be dressed up for dressed down. This dress is from Target for $27.99.
2. Red Hot Midi
I am really loving this midi dress trend. It has the sophistication of a fuller length dress without the “I’m going to the prom” feel. The ruffle adds a great feminine touch and is a great shape for all body types. It would need minimal jewelry but a great bracelet would add the perfect touch. Pick this dress up at RiffRaff for $48.
3. Flouncy Floral
This flouncy blue number is perfect for a more casual affair but can easily be dressed up with a flirty heel. Again Target hit it off with the off the shoulder trend (don’t judge there is one more later on…oops…). I’m obsessing over the color red shoe in the photo to add something extra to the outfit. No red shoe? Try a red clutch! Grab this dress from Target for $27.99.
4. Black Empire Shift
Black is always appropriate for a wedding (I think it is anyway). Its a classic color! What I love about this dress is that you can wear it for so many occasions ( date night, beach, vacation, etc). The empire-ish waist and neckline is what also what sold me – its unexpected. I am also all about this shift dress trend – here I come 3rd piece of cake and the late night snack at the end of the wedding night because no matter how much you over indulge the you will be as comfortable as ever! Snag this dress from Eleven Oaks Boutique for $36.
5. Versatile A-Line
No fuss dress is what I think about when I see this. This A-Line amazingness comes in more colors and patterns than you see above- yeah, I knew you were going to like this one. Tip to remember- an A-Line is always in style, its the fabrics and patterns on them that can go out of style. I think half of my closet is this silhouette lol. Without fuss it can go from a backyard BBQ to a cocktail dress with different accessories and a shoe change. For a wedding, I would style this with statement earrings and a block heel. This dress in at Francesca’s for $44.

6. Orange Flirty Off the Shoulder
Ok, ok, ok..last off the shoulder I promise. I threw this one into the box because, other than it being off the shoulder, I love the unexpected color. No need to add color anywhere else when accessorizing. Leave the shoes, jewelry and clutch neutral with this dress so it can do all the talking. Again, this is a great piece to keep for formal and casual outings with small shoe and or jewelry changes. Enjoy flirting in the one ladies! You can snag this at Target for $39.99.
7. Lace Sophistication
Know you are going to something a little more fancy? I’ve gotcha covered. This blue laced beauty is sure to be a crowd pleaser. It’s flouncy skirt and adjustable straps make it an easier winner for all body types. I would pass on a necklace on this one so the neckline stands out all on its own and opt for a refined earring instead. Dash away with this dress from Francesca’s for $48.
8. Floral Shift
Ok, so I’m a little obsessed with shift dresses as well. Can’t blame a girl for wanting to be comfortable and cute. I love this one from Eleven Oaks Boutique because of the pattern options, so adorable. This dress comes in a pale pink or a vivid blue! Both can transition easily from event to event. Be sure to pair a great earring with this one, metal or with some color, to show off the neckline!
Pale Pink $42
Vivid Blue $46
9. Royally Ruffled
I may lean a little towards the ruffle trend as well…? I need to get some ruffles in my closet! They bring such a feminine touch to clothing without over doing it. What I like about this one is the ruffle along the seam in the bust, it draws the eye and is playful. Loving the delicate layering of necklaces and the choker in the photo above is the perfect touch. Pair with a printed clutch if you want to try something a little different! This ruffled piece can be found at Francesca’s for $44.
10. Romantic Large Floral
Ok guys, I feel like I’m repeating myself but do you see another pattern..? Floral pattern that is! Floral is, per usual, a trend this spring/summer. What changes from year to year? How the floral is displayed. I’m swooning over the big print of floral on this dress. It almost has a water/watercolor feel for the whole garment. The print and dress itself is so romantic and feminine it will fit right in at a wedding or date night! Rose gold jewelry is what will set this whole look on the next level with earrings and a bracelet- skip the necklace on this one. Pair with a neutral clutch and neutral heels! Add this to your closet from Francesca’s for $44.
So here is the recap of the trends I love for spring/summer dresses:
Off the shoulder, Shift Dresses
Midi’s, Floral & Ruffles!
Here is to free food, free drinks, and seeing two people in love! Happy shopping 🙂
Cheers!
