Holiday Home Tour | Cozy Rustic Entry Way

Christmas time is upon us! Bring on the garland, Christmas lights and family traditions. I love decorating for this season. It makes me so happy and cheerful to see the house coming together. I was so excited to bring my business and personal relationship a little closer with Haven Creek Flowers and Finds located in my little town of Rockford, MI. I reached out to them and asked if I could highlight some of their items in the store. Look for those plug-in’s later in the post to show you how you can use these items in your home too!

Starting off my Holiday Home Tour is my entry way…

It is crazy to look back at last year versus this year. My photography style, my taste and my life as a whole has changed and I’m sure yours has as well. I wanted to more of a subtle red accent and played with more neutral colors. Changing your sense of style is so refreshing. The perfect way of doing that (instead of going out a dropping some major cash) is to take a step back, asses what you have and using it in a different way. Reusing, if you have been following me, has been such a key part of making things I already have look new and being practical about my home.

Use blankets in different places or rugs or or pillows or greenery and it looks brand new! I moved this rug from right in front of our front door to under the bench and It make it feel so cozy. Now that I mentioned reusing things you already have… lets talk about the lighted pine tree. We bought these from Menard’s as a pair. The urns they are in are…to say the least…ok haha. I threw it in the metal tin and loved them all over again! Also, last year they were on our front porch but its literally a freaking windstorm being at the top of the hill all the time so they ALWAYS blew over…so annoying. Having them inside is so much better for my sanity and for the trees.

This truck pillow was too cute to pass up at Haven Creek Flowers & Finds. It has lots of color in it and brings in the perfect vintage vibe. The plaid red pillow and neutral pillow are both from Target (always my go to store of pillows). Per usual (in Hayley decorating and staging) my vintage book collection is shining through! They are a perfect way to add character, color, texture and history into your home.

Speaking of history….Between this Vernor’s crate and Lard tin I am not sure how more history and stories could be told between the two hahaha. The Vernor’s crate I used in my entry way for fall and decided to keep it around! The Lard Tin is also from Haven Creek Flowers and Finds. I loved the weathered red looks it brought into the home and, of course, brought in some vintage books to add on top of it. Loved also using my Wine Bottle Lantern shown above in a new space because it’s usually on my mantle! It was a wedding gift from my brother and future sister-in-law so I love to use it as much as I can.

When I saw these bells and antler hanger I was in love! Talk about character and making a statement! Loved being able to bring more of a neutral color pallet with the gold and cream accents. So much texture happening!

Lets talk about the last piece of the puzzle..the stair case! My staircase in my childhood always had lighted garland going up on it. It is one thing that will always remind me of Christmas time. I have so many great memories as a child and traditions that I want to bring into my new family with Chad. I decided to wrap the garland closer together to create a fuller look and to wrap around the posts. I also wanted to keep the neutral theme moving up the stairs with the cream satin bows. I decided to move my stocking somewhere else this year! Check out my Living Room Holiday Home Tour post for details, coming soon!

Christmas to me is all about traditions, family and creating memories. But, changing those traditions to fit you and your style or adding to them is totally ok in my book. Make your own, respect your past and create new memories with your family.

Kristy and Jenny are the absolute sweetest two ladies you will ever meet. Their business is their dream and they put so much pride and love into it. I was so happy that they let me do my Holiday Home with them this season. I can’t wait for many more collaborations to come. Haven Creek sound familiar? It should! I used them for my fresh floral for my beautiful sister’s baby shower. Check it out here!

Thank you for stopping by my creative space today and checking out my home! It is ever changing and I love changing it with you..
